Jaw-joint injuries are often overlooked by physicians or misdiagnosed. Continued injury to the region can be disastrous and most cannot be repaired. The results of the helmet impact study by NOSCAE were earth shattering. The protector allowed about half the load force into the Skull and TMJ than the standard boil and bite mouthpieces.
